Amanda + Jason // Richmond Virginia Engagement

Amanda + Jason met up with me at Floodwall Park in Richmond Virginia, and we explored the small park and gigantic floodwall, with its epic views of the James River and downtown Richmond City!  It was warm and wonderful, sunny and not too hot.  And yes they brought their dog along!

I loved spending some time with these two and getting to know them a bit!  Amanda + Jason are spunky and adventurous, and their love for each other is evident just looking at them.

After Floodwall Park we made our way over to Scott's Addition and walked around exploring for a bit before stopping by Ardent for a few beers, which speaking of, I'm going to recommend beers during all future engagement sessions.

It's...the right thing to do.

Their wedding isn't until next year, but I'm already excited for it!

Adventures below:

Rachel + Jay // Richmond Virginia Wedding // Hotel John Marshall

I've been waiting to blog this wedding for a looooooong time!  Rachel and Jay were married awhile back but I hadn't had the chance to blog them until now.

So here we are: a gorgeous and super fun wedding at Hotel John Marshall in Richmond!  If you haven't been there before, the groomsmen suite is gigantic and it has a pool table.  I love that.  After getting ready photos we hopped over to the Virginia State Capitol for their first look + a few portraits.  They were married and partied in the ballroom!  Rachel and Jay are notoriously ridiculous, and got the notoriously ridiculous band Three Sheets to the Wind to play the wedding.

I'm told that they've also has seen them multiple times since the wedding.

Here's to you guys, such an honor to be there at your big day!

On to the photos:

2017 Year in Review

Hello world!

In this collection you'll find my favorite wedding photos made in the bizarre year that was 2017.  I'm thrilled to show these off because they represent all of the people that I met this year and all of the joy and excitement they experienced on their wedding days.  It's an honor to do what I do.

In here you'll see some travel shots from my various adventures around the world: Italy, Austria, Jamaica, and even Chicago (to answer your next question, yes, I got deep dish from Lou Malnati's, and yes, it was awesome).

You'll see some political photos in here as well.  I had the opportunity to photograph former President Barack Obama in my new hometown of Richmond on his first major political appearance since leaving office.  I photographed Vice President Mike Pence, and former Health and Human Services Director Tom Price hours before he announced his resignation.  Pretty crazy!

I can't wait to meet new friends and make more art this year!  Enjoy!
