Katie + Jorge // Washington DC Wedding

...what to say about the couple who has everything?

//

Katie and Jorge are two peas in a ridiculous pod.

Both of them have the amazing ability to warm up any room just by being in it, and Katie's smile always brings a smile to my face too.  Full disclosure: a LOT of my close friends were at this wedding, being crazy, and making it one of the most fun and epic weddings I've ever shot.  After the wedding at Catholic University Chapel, everybody scooted over to Glen Echo for carousel rides, an uncountable amount of cookies, and dancing the night away.  The evening was punctuated by beautiful speeches, me sneaking the lucky couple out for night portraits as often as possible, and all of the guests dance-fighting over rights to stand in front of the well-placed giant dancefloor fan, which undoubtedly averted a string of heatstroke-related injuries.

I cannot explain how happy I am to show off these beautiful people doing crazy things like getting married, so I'll stop here and let the photos do the talking!

Rachel + Jay // Richmond Virginia Wedding // Hotel John Marshall

I've been waiting to blog this wedding for a looooooong time!  Rachel and Jay were married awhile back but I hadn't had the chance to blog them until now.

So here we are: a gorgeous and super fun wedding at Hotel John Marshall in Richmond!  If you haven't been there before, the groomsmen suite is gigantic and it has a pool table.  I love that.  After getting ready photos we hopped over to the Virginia State Capitol for their first look + a few portraits.  They were married and partied in the ballroom!  Rachel and Jay are notoriously ridiculous, and got the notoriously ridiculous band Three Sheets to the Wind to play the wedding.

I'm told that they've also has seen them multiple times since the wedding.

Here's to you guys, such an honor to be there at your big day!

On to the photos:

Margot + Kyle :: Liberty Mountain Wedding

Today we have Margot and Kyle's wedding in the Ski Liberty Mountain Lodge!  The weather conditions were pretty rough outside, freezing rain and sleet making outdoor shots difficult; but a warm, beautiful lodge combined with a generous helping of breakfast for dinner made for a cozy wedding atmosphere!  Many of you know that I'm a big fan of the added challenge of shooting entirely inside, looking for interesting portrait spots despite the otherwise "normal" lodge decor, and this wedding was a perfect example.  Also these two have some seriously insane friends.

I've known Kyle for a long time, and immediately upon meeting Margot I knew the two of them were an absolute perfect fit.  They have an amazing ability to know what the other person wants and needs, and both have a wonderfully sarcastic sense of humor that really resonates with me!  :)  I'm so happy they're together!

Now let's get to the photos!
